Princess Cruises Unveils a New Family Activity Zone on Upcoming Sun Princess

The Sun Princess, a new Sphere Class vessel by Princess Cruises, will debut a new family activity zone in FEB 2024.

Located on the top decks of Sun Princess, Park19 features nine activities for multi-generational families.

“Park19 as the name suggests is a new space created for all our guests, including activities to bring together multi-generational travel families in a location with spectacular views and fun outdoor activities for all,” said John Padgett, Princess Cruises president. “The new area was tailored based on guest feedback for more family and group activities spaces.”

Located on decks 19, 20, and 21, Park19 was designed with active guests and multi-generational families in mind. The nine activities include:

  • Sea Breeze – A Rollglider providing panoramic views of the ocean that is also ADA accessible.
  • Coastal Climb  A climbing structure where guests can ascend from decks 19 to 20 through a series of obstacles.
  • The Lookout – An open-air observation deck.
  • The Net – A trek across unstable bridges, a z-shaped balance beam and cargo nets.
  • Infinite Horizon – Leaning tilt walls protruding over the side of the ship so guests can peer out from deck 19.
  • Hammock Area – A relaxing space for visitors to hang out with family and friends.
  • Splash Zone – A splash area with pop jets and a water sculpture.
  • Recreational Court – A multi-function sports area with ping pong, shuffleboard, Xponential Fitness classes and morning meditation, among others.
  • Jogging Track – An open-air track.

Additional family-centric offerings on Sun Princess include the Youth & Teen Centres on decks six and seven.

Firefly Park, located on deck six, provides an imaginative space for kids aged six months to seven years, with art projects and play areas. On deck seven, Neon Grove and The Underground offer spaces for tweens and teens to hang out and engage in various activities.

“These expanded offerings give younger cruisers plenty to explore and enjoy aboard Sun Princess, creating an even more family-friendly experience with something for everyone regardless of age,” Padgett added.
