The President of the Quebec Regional Council of ACTA, Robert Turcotte, says he is “going on a crusade against offensive commissions.”
Turcotte says the goal of the campaign is to achieve a minimum 12% commission on the total price of all travel packages.
To accomplish the goal, Turcotte says ACTA Quebec will take a number of initiatives, including supporting and developing relationships with wholesalers it deems to be good business partners and publishing a monthly ranking of the best and worst wholesalers in Quebec.
Turcotte says a December 3rd ACTA Quebec meeting saw some new faces joining what he calls “our growing movement.” But he warned that more participation will be required to push the group’s agenda.
“Those travel agents who believe everything is going well or those who think the solution will fall from the sky can continue on this path and hope for the best. For those who think that we must take control of our business destinies, you are invited to join our movement. Participation by all is crucial and is the key to the success of this crusade,” Turcotte said in a communiqué.
