PM Defends Increase in Air Travel Security Charge, Says it's ‘Only Fair’

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is defending an increase to the air travel security charge, saying it’s "only fair" travellers pay more for improvements to air travel. The government is proposing increasing the security charge by around 33 per cent in the latest federal budget. Trudeau says investments are needed in improving the quality and security of air travel and that the cost should be shouldered more heavily by people actually travelling than taxpayers at large.
