Viking Launches New Travel Advisor Training Program

Viking has launched the Viking Travel Advisor Academy (www.myvikingjourney.com/advisor), a new training program designed to provide travel advisors with the tools to promote Viking and the opportunity to earn exclusive benefits. The four-module academy allows advisors to become a Viking Certified Expert and learn the sales and marketing tips that have proven successful to sell Viking’s river, ocean and expedition voyages.

“We are very proud of our longstanding partnerships with travel advisors, who help us share the world of Viking with curious travelers,” said Michele Saegesser, Vice President of Sales and National Accounts at Viking.

“Viking has expanded significantly since we launched the industry’s first river voyage academy in 2015. Our new academy builds on previous successes and incorporates invaluable feedback we received from the advisor community. We hope our partners will complete the entire Viking Travel Advisor Academy to become Viking Certified Experts and take advantage of the numerous benefits awarded to graduates.”

The Viking Travel Advisor Academy allows travel advisors and agents to “learn and earn” more with Viking, including benefits such as:

  • $100 per booking incentive on a Viking reloadable VISA card for every confirmed booking made within 30 days of successfully completing the Viking Fundamentals, Rivers, Oceans, and Expeditions courses.
  • A certificate acknowledging the completion of the Viking Travel Advisor Academy and the achievement of becoming a Viking Certified Expert.
  • A digital Viking Certified Expert badge to display on websites and email signatures.
  • Membership into the Viking graduate community, providing eligibility for special travel advisor cruise rates and FAM sailings.

Travel Advisors can register for the new Viking Travel Advisor Academy and Viking Rewards program at the Viking Travel Advisor Portal or reach out to their Viking Director of Business Development or Business Development Manager for additional information.

The launch of the new Viking Travel Advisor Academy is the most recent milestone as the company continues celebrating its 25th anniversary. In January 2023, Viking had its most successful single month of bookings following recent years of strong growth. Since 2020, Viking has welcomed 15 new ships to its fleet—including eight new Viking Longships on the rivers of Europe, new purpose-built vessels on the Mekong, Nile and Mississippi rivers; two new, identical ocean ships and Polar Class expedition vessels.
