Delta Air Lines Cuts Over 6,000 Flights From Summer Schedule

Delta Air Lines is the latest major airline globally to reduce its summer schedule. In recent weeks, giants American Airlines and Lufthansa both announced drastic reductions to their summer schedules, with at least Lufthansa admitting the move was as a result of labour shortages plaguing the industry.

Delta is cutting 6,000 flights from its summer schedule, according to Cirium. The cuts include 1,952 flights in JUN alone, representing 259,836 seats. These cuts include the elimination of four routes. Delta still plans to operate over 7,000 flights that month. 1,858 flights were cut in JUL, representing 199,574 seats, but the carrier is scheduled to operate 9,000 more flights in JUL 2023 than JUL 2022.
