2023's Fastest Growing Airports

While airports have been greatly affected by the pandemic, aviation data company Cirium notes that six airports have experienced growth of more than 20 per cent since 2019. CUN takes the top spot with a 37 per cent increase in seat capacity since 2019. As reported by Simple Flying, MIA and CAI tie for second with 23 per cent seat capacity increase. IST, BOG, and LAS saw growth of 22, 21 and 20 per cent, respectively. Simple Flying notes that European airports were “notably absent” among the fastest growing.
