Adventure Canada Adding Fuel Surcharges As Costs Rise

Adventure Canada has added a fuel surcharge on all 2023 Ocean Endeavour expeditions, citing high fuel costs.

USD $48 per person per day will be added to all 2023 Ocean Endeavour expedition fees. All invoices will now show the surcharge, and for all current bookings, updated invoices will be sent in the next communication reflecting this change.

Adventure Canada notes that surcharges will not affect agent commissions.

According to the operator, its 2023 expedition prices were established in early 2019 when the cost of Marine Gas Oil was "stable and significantly lower." While Adventure Canada says it is absorbing "much of the additional fuel cost," it adds that the implementation of a fuel surcharge is "a necessary action."

"We recognize these unforeseen rising costs are an inconvenience and we’re sympathetic to that fact. We thank you for your understanding," Adventure Canada said in a statement.

Additional information as well as a breakdown on surcharges by expedition can be found on Adventure Canada's web site.
