Just as the first season of AmaWaterways' AmaDahlia has drawn to a close, the river cruise company has announced a sister ship will be joining it to meet growing demand for Nile river cruises.
The cruise line's second ship in Egypt is dubbed AmaLilia, which AmaWaterways says honours the "sacred blue water lily flower of ancient Egypt." AmaLilia will set sail in 2024.
Like AmaDahlia, AmaLilia will sail the line's immersive Secrets of Egypt & Nile itinerary, an 11-night cruise + land experience that includes a seven-night roundtrip river cruise from Luxor, paired with three nights pre- and one-night post-cruise stays in historic Cairo. Similar to her sister ship, AmaLilia will be designed with regionally inspired décor, spacious staterooms and suites, and a specialty restaurant included in the river cruise fare.
“It is incredibly exciting to be able to expand our river cruise offerings on the legendary Nile River with AmaLilia, which will be another stunning, intimate ship,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-founder of AmaWaterways.
“Egypt is one of the most fascinating destinations in the world and we’ve seen such wonderful interest from both our loyal guests as well as new guests since we launched our first ship there in September 2021. We look forward to welcoming even more travelers to join us to experience the ancient wonders of Egypt!”
According to the company, more details about the new ship and inaugural season dates will be announced soon.
