AmaWaterways Returns to Mekong River with New Land Promotion

AmaWaterways' AmaDara on the Mekong River
AmaDara on the Mekong River

AmaWaterways has announced its return to the Mekong River on 17OCT 2022 with a limited-time 2-for-1 Land Package offer on select 2022 departures. Reservations are now open for sailings through Vietnam and Cambodia to explore the Mekong River aboard the 124-passenger AmaDara, a 302-foot ship featuring 62 staterooms and suites.

“Now that entry regulations are easing, Vietnam and Cambodia have jumped to the top of our guests’ must-visit travel lists,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-founder of AmaWaterways.

“We are seeing pent-up desire for authentic experiences in exotic destinations, so we are absolutely thrilled to bring our guests back to one of my favorite parts of the world, where the beauty of the place we visit are only surpassed by the gentleness of the people who call those places home.”

Guests are invited to take advantage of the 2-For-1 Land Package Special Offer on seven 2022 departures. Both 8-day, 7-night river cruise adventures can be combined with pre- or post-cruise land packages in Hanoi, Ha Long Bay (exclusive overnight stay), Ho Chi Minh City or Siem Reap, the UNESCO World Heritage site of the ancient Angkor Wat temples.

Guests are able to take advantage of two itineraries, Riches of the Mekong and Charms of the Mekong, that take travelers through Cambodia and Vietnam. Highlights of the cultural experiences on these itineraries include:

  • Visit rural villages, colorful markets and a monastery, where guests can receive a special Buddhist blessing by monks.
  • Delve into the peaks and valleys of Cambodia’s ancient and modern history in the Royal Palace and National Museums of its capital, Phnom Penh.
  • Witness artisans who create handicrafts and delicacies, and be treated to authentic experiences, including rides via oxcart, tut-tut and trishaw.
  • Explore Ho Chi Minh City, once known as the “Peal of the Orient,” offering a mix of old and new, and providing a start or end to the journey.

AmaDara features luxury accommodations boasting French-colonial décor, twin balconies, and carved wood furniture. Onboard, guests can experience amenities including massage rooms, a fitness room, and a sun-deck pool, as well as dining at the Mekong Restaurant and the Chef’s Table specialty restaurant. Evening cocktails with panoramic views await guests in the Saigon Lounge.

“Whether traveling solo, as a couple or with a group of family and friends, our warm and friendly AmaDara crew are waiting anxiously to welcome guests back to the magical Mekong River, where they will experience memories that will last a lifetime,” added Karst.
