Lasting Impressions of Impression by Secrets Isla Mujeres
With all the trips to the Maya peninsula over many decades, I’d never crossed the small stretch of ocean which separates Cancun from Isla Mujeres. I was looking forward to the experience, and in particular, the Secrets Impression concept property.
Hyatt is upping the all-inclusive game with ever more “Endless Privileges” concepts, with Impression by Secrets being the top of the line.
The Isla Mujeres resort is built in height versus width, which affords for magnificent views of the layered blues of the ocean in this part of the island. At night, you look out to the twinkling lights of Cancun and listen to the waves over a spectacular dinner at the, dare I say, unique Unik restaurant on the rooftop terrace.
There are various terraces tucked into the stepped layers of the property. Some sneak up on you as you turn a corner — a little oasis of comfy rattan chairs for two to rest in. Or the larger ones with pools and bars.
Guests we spoke with were all in awe of the architecture and the highly attentive service. Taken altogether, it makes an impression.
