Playa Celebrates Return of In-Person Trade Events, Reveals New Partnership with Kimpton's 1st All-Inclusive

Open Jaw cameras captured the moment as Rose Cosentino, Vice President, Sales - Canada & EurAsia, and Amanda Morris, Canada's Director of Sales for Playa Hotels & Resorts welcomed advisors and operators back to its first in-person event since the pandemic.

In addition to celebrating its partnership with the trade at Toronto's Constantine restaurant, the Playa team had lots of great news to share about a "growing" portfolio of new properties, a strong Canadian market with a lot of pent-up demand for travel, and what it teased as "Breaking News:" a new partnership with Kimpton for that brand's first all-inclusive resort.

Kimpton Hacienda Tres Ríos Resort, Spa & Nature Park in the Riviera Maya's Playa del Carmen will be an all-inclusive Playa property opening in 2024 that Playa describes as "barefoot luxury."

The property is a rebrand and re-imagining of its original, award-winning and environmentally-conscious 2008 version, including renovations of its 255 architecturally-acclaimed guest rooms, suites and villas. Guests of the all-inclusive beachfront resort will enjoy amenities and activities such as 11 culinary concepts, 5 swimming pools, private beach access, an expansive spa, fitness center and several family-friendly facilities ranging from a Kids Club to water sports. For those looking to meet or celebrate beachside, the resort also will house a total of 26,200 square feet of meetings and events space across 12 rooms.

Located in the heart of Riviera Maya in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Kimpton Hacienda Tres Ríos gets its name from the three freshwater rivers that flow through the Tres Ríos Nature Park’s 326 acres of preserved tropical forest. Throughout the resort and nature park, guests can explore 10 cenotes and discover more than 90 species of animals and 120 species of plants. As one of the area’s privately owned natural spaces, Tres Ríos is governed by strict environmental regulations for sustainable tourism.

Guests can unwind on the resort’s peaceful beaches and explore the natural surroundings through swimming, snorkeling or kayaking via guided tours of the mangrove forests.

Those looking to take in Riviera Maya and Playa del Carmen beyond the resort can discover further culture and adventure within the area’s Mayan ruins, golf courses, shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.

The new Kimpton all-inclusive joins over 10 properties Playa Hotels & Resorts currently manages in Mexico, as well as other Hyatt Zilara, Hyatt Ziva, and Wyndham Alltra resorts in its portfolio throughout Mexico and the Caribbean.
