There was glitz and glamour and New York style aboard MSC’s newest flagship, MSC Seascape, for the naming ceremony, featuring a video appearance by her Godmother, Sophia Loren.
The event marks the introduction of New York as a new home port in APR, 2023 for MSC.
Ian Patterson, Country Manager, Canada for MSC, revealed the Canadian office has grown to thirty full time staff, many of whom are bilingual, an unprecedented investment by a cruise line in the Canadian market.
One of the important commitments MSC underscored during the one-night event is the research and implementation of sustainability initiatives. MSC Seascape has the latest environmental technologies including the best-in-class wastewater treatment systems with high purification standards and selective catalytic reduction systems to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 90 percent by converting the gas into harmless nitrogen and water.
MSC Seascape will homeport in Miami, where she will begin sailing to the Caribbean and the Bahamas for her inaugural season. There are two itineraries on offer:
· Eastern Caribbean: Calling at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve and Nassau in The Bahamas, San Juan in Puerto Rico, and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic; and
· Western Caribbean: Calling at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Cozumel in Mexico, George Town in the Cayman Islands and Ocho Rios in Jamaica.
