With ocean and river cruise lines temporarily suspending service around the world as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re keeping tabs on when operators are expected to resume sailings.
Here’s a comprehensive summary of the latest return-to-service announcements. The information will be updated as cruise lines announce updates to their operations.

AMAWATERWAYS | AmaWaterways has suspended service until 31MAY, 2021. |
AMERICAN CRUISE LINE | American Cruise Lines resumed sailings on 13MAR, 2021. |
AMERICAN QUEEN STEAMBOAT COMPANY | American Queen Steamboat Company resumed service of its The American Queen, The American Empress, The American Duchess, and The American Countess ships on 15MAR, 2021. |
AVALON WATERWAYS | Avalon Waterways has suspended all travel operations through 31MAY, 2021. |
AZAMARA | Azamara Club Cruises has paused its operations un 30JUN, 2021.
Additionally, Azamara will be suspending its 2020/2021 winter sailings throughout Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and South America. |
BAHAMAS PARADISE CRUISE LINE |
Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line has suspended service until 02JUL, 2021. |
CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE | Carnival Cruise Line has cancelled all cruises out of U.S. homeports through 30JUN, 2021.
Additionally the following cruises have been cancelled:

CELEBRITY CRUISES | Celebrity has extended the suspension of all sailings out of the United States until 30JUN, 2021. This excludes all ships which have recently announced many new homeports around the globe
All cruises in Asia, Australia and New Zealand have been cancelled for the entire 2020-2021 cruise season. South America sailings have also been cancelled through 07APR, 2021. All MAY through OCT 2021 Europe and transatlantic cruises on Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Constellation have been suspended. |
CELESTYAL CRUISES | Celestyal Cruises has extended the suspension of its sailings until 29MAY, 2021. |
COSTA CRUISES | Costa Cruises is pausing operations until 27MAR, 2021. Costa Smeralda, will be the first ship to resume operations on 01MAY, 2021, with three and four-night mini cruises as well as weeklong voyages, calling in Savona, La Spezia, Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples, Messina, and Cagliari. This sailing is only available for Italians.Costa has released a list of start dates for its cruises:

CROISIEUROPE | CroisiEurope has restarted its river cruises in France. The first vessel sailed on the Seine on 13JUL, followed by the Rhone and the Burgundy Canal on 16JUL, 2020.
Rhine cruises returned on 20JUL, the Loire on 31JUL, and the Gironde will return 26AUG. Ocean cruises to Corsica resumed service on 26JUL. Europe cruises resumed on the Danube on 31JUL. The Elbe will resume on 03AUG, the Douro on 07AUG, and in Croatia from 13AUG. |
CRYSTAL CRUISES | Crystal Cruises has cancelled all sailings aboard Crystal Bach, Crystal Debussy, Crystal Mahler and Crystal Ravel through MAY 2021.
The company has also paused operations for the Crystal Esprit (Yacht) voyages and Crystal Endeavor (Expedition) Voyages through 01AUG, 2021. Additionally, Crystal has cancelled all voyages aboard Crystal Symphony until JUN 2021. Crystal Serenity has been suspended until 17OCT, 2021, but will be offering an alternative sailing to The Bahamas beginning 03JUL, 2021. |
CUNARD | Cunard has suspended operations for various sailings through 2021.

This summer, Queen Elizabeth will be offering short UK based sailings for UK residents. |
DISNEY CRUISE LINE | Disney Cruise Line extends suspension of all departures through JUN. The company also cancelled Disney Magic sailings through 18SEP, 2021.
Disney Cruise Line is still figuring out what they are doing with Alaska sailings as Canadian ports will not let ships with over 100 people dock until February 2022. |
HOLLAND AMERICA LINE | Holland America Line has extended its pause of cruise operations through 30APR, 2021, this affects sailings in Alaska, Mexican Riviera, Pacific coast, Caribbean, and Mediterranean.
All cruises departing from Canadian ports will be suspended until 2022. Holland America Line has also announced it is extending its pause of cruise operations to now include all JUN 2021 roundtrip sailings to Alaska from Seattle, Washington. This includes six cruises on Eurodam and Oosterdam with a call at Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Alaska cruises sailing roundtrip from Seattle departing in JUL and onward have not been cancelled. |
HURTIGRUTEN | The company has cancelled its Antarctica season for the 2020-2021 season.
As of January 2021, five ships are sailing on the route between Bergen and Kirkenes. The following ships are currently sailing: MS Nordcapp, MS Polarlys, MS Richard With, MS Kong Harald, and MS Vesterålen. Departures with MS Nordlys and MS Nordnorge are cancelled in JAN and FEB. MS Nordlys will also cancel departures in MAR and APR. |
MSC | MSC Cruises paused operations through 31MAY, 2021 for its Caribbean voyages departing from North America. Following resumption, MSC Cruises announced new and updated itineraries in the Mediterranean and across Europe for summer 2021.

NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE | Norwegian Cruise Line has announced its return to service, with new itineraries sailing Europe and The Caribbean beginning 25JUL, 2021. The Cruise Line will restart operations at a reduced capacity with Norwegian Jade, Joy and Gem.
All guests sailing aboard cruises with embarkation dates through 31OCT, 2021, will be required to be fully vaccinated and tested prior to boarding. For more information, click here. |
OCEANIA CRUISES | Oceania Cruises has suspended all voyages through 30JUN, 2021. |
PONANT | Currently all Ponant cruises are paused, it is unclear when they will resume service. A list of cancelled itineraries can be found here. |
PRINCESS | Princess Cruises has further suspended operations from North America & Rome through 30JUN, 2021.
Due to the Canadian ports closure, cruises that have additionally been cancelled are:
Cruises in and out of Japan are cancelled until 25JUN, 2021, and Australia/New Zealand Cruises are cancelled through MAY 2021. Princess Cruises also confirmed it will cancel its early 2021 World and Circle South America cruise. Island Princess and the Pacific Princess voyages will be impacted. |
REGENT SEVEN SEAS CRUISES | Regent Seven Seas suspended voyages with embarkation dates through 30JUN, 2021. |
ROYAL CARIBBEAN | Royal Caribbean has suspended operations out of the United States through 30JUN, 2021. This excludes all ships which have recently announced new homeports around the globe.
The Quantum Of The Seas is currently operating and sailing out of Singapore. Israel sailings on Odyssey of the Seas, and China sailings on Spectrum of the Seas and Vision of the Seas are also currently operating. |
SAGA | SAGA has extended its pause in operations until 27JUN, 2021 aboard Spirit of Discovery. The inaugural cruise of Spirit of Adventure has been delayed to 26JUL, 2021. |
SEABOURN | Seabourn has suspended its sailings until 03JUL, 2021.
Restart dates are as follows:
Seabourn is additionally cancelling 19 voyages scheduled aboard Seabourn Odyssey in summer 2021 between Vancouver, Canada and Juneau, Alaska, including one Pacific Coast voyage at the end of the season. |
SEA CLOUD | Sea Cloud will be the first ship in the fleet to resume service on 07MAY, 2021, with cruises from Piraeus to the Greek Islands.
Sea Cloud II will start on 02JUN, 2021, with voyages from Nice. Sea Cloud Spirit will sail on 02JUN, 2021, from Civitavecchia (Rome). |
SEADREAMING | SeaDreaming hopes to resume operations in June. |
SCENIC GROUP | Scenic has suspended all voyages until 31MAY, 2021. |
SILVERSEA | Silversea has suspended sailings until 30JUN, 2021, excluding Silver Moon, Silver Origin and Silver Explorer
Silver Moon will sail from new homeport Athens on 10-night cruises that include Israel and Cyprus, beginning 18JUN, 2021. |
UNCRUISE | UnCruise will restart Alaska cruises in 2021. |
UNIWORLD | Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has suspended cruises through APR, 2021. |
VICTORY CRUISE LINE |
Victory Cruise Line has cancelled all planned itineraries for the remainder of the 2020 season. The cruise line will restart in 2021. |
VIKING | Viking has announced that it will restart limited operations in MAY 2021 with three sailings along the coast of England exclusively for UK residents. The ships will depart from Portsmouth on 22MAY, 29MAY, and 05JUN, 2021.
Additionally, Viking announced that it will continue restarting limited operations with a collection of sailings around Bermuda and Iceland beginning in JUN 2021. |
VIRGIN VOYAGES | Virgin Voyages has further delayed the debut of Scarlet Lady from US ports until 17SEP, 2021 on Scarlet Lady. In the meantime, Scarlet Lady will be offering itineraries of the UK in AUG.
Second ship Valiant Lady will miss its summer debut in the Mediterranean and will not enter service until 14NOV 2021. |
WINDSTAR | Windstar has extended its suspension of operations until 2021.
