Discount DR airline Arajet has announced the launch of pre-ticketed bus connections from its air hub in Santo Domingo to resort destinations Punta Cana and Bávaro in the Dominican Republic.
Using a bus company partner, Arajet will be offering ground connections for pax on most of its flights from Canada and South America to Santo Domingo with Punta Cana, which will allow passengers to be taken to their final resort destination without having to purchase separate transportation.
“Punta Cana is the most important tourist destination in the Caribbean and many of our travelers who arrive through Santo Domingo have Punta Cana or Bávaro as their final destination,” the airline said in a statement.
This connection service is now available for passengers flying from Canadian destinations Montreal and Toronto, as well as Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Santiago de Chile, San José, Cartagena, Medellín and Mexico City, among other cities in Central America and the Caribbean.
Using Santo Domingo as its hub, Arajet offers more than 120 connections between North, Central and South America.
About Arajet
Arajet calls itself "the first low-cost airline in the Caribbean region" and began operations in SEP 2022 from its base at Las Americas Airport in Santo Domingo, under its air operator certificate (AOC) from the Dominican Republic. Arajet operates a new fleet of Boeing 737MAX-8 aircraft.
As Open Jaw reported, Arajet recently announced its first route from Canada, with service from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to Santo Domingo (SDQ), set to commence operations on 24OCT. Following this was the announcement of its launch of its second route from Canada - from Montreal Pierre Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Santo Domingo (SDQ), operating four days a week.
The Canadian expansion follows the FEB 2023 signing of a Blue Skies agreement between Canada and the Dominican Republic that allows more carriers to fly more routes to both destinations, as Open Jaw reported.
