Emerald Cruises Announces Savings on All 2023 France Sailings

Emerald Cruises has launched its "Your Great French Escape" sale, offering Canadians savings on all 2023 French river cruises for new bookings made by 15AUG 2022.

Savings include CAD $600 per couple off the cruise fare, roundtrip flights for only CAD $295 (or CAD $700 air credit), and, if the booking is paid in full within 7 days, a €250 (CAD $328) per cabin on board credit. Guests booking who pay in full can also enjoy an additional 10 per cent off the cruise fare with the Super Earlybird (SEB) program.

France Sailings Highlights

The regions of France’s Lyon and Provence are the centerpieces for Emerald Cruises’ eight-day Sensations of Lyon and Provence. Sailing on Emerald Cruises’ Star-Ship, Emerald Liberté, guests can enjoy opportunities to explore and partake, whether in guided tours and experiences or independently. Guests seeking an active vacation can choose from numerous EmeraldACTIVE inclusions: hike though the vineyards of Tournon, kayak in the city of Avignon, bike though Lyon, and take fishing lesson in Viviers. Guests preferring a more genial pace can visit the Hospices de Beaune, originally a hospital for the poor, and now home to one of Burgundy’s most popular wine auctions, and take guided walking tours of many of the towns along the Rhône and Saône Rivers route including the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Basilica Notre-Dame de Fourvière in Lyon, and Avignon’s Palais-des-Papes and Pont d’Avignon, an ancient stone bridge crossing the Rhône.

For the guests who’s love of food and wine drive them to these regions, there is are a host of foodie experiences including an afternoon cheese and olive tasting, educating guests on the many varieties that come from this region; a wine presentation and tasting with a local expert that takes a deeper dive; and an onboard Provençal dinner in Avignon, hosted by renowned local chef and Top Chef France finalist Fabien Morreale. Fares for the eight-day sailing, with the CAD $600 per couple and 10% SEB savings included, start at CAD $3,916 per person, double.

Guests can choose to extend their vacation with several two- and three-night city stays. Two nights in Paris staying at the centrally-located Jardin du Marais Hotel includes a city tour and scenic cruise on the Seine; while three nights in Nice allows guests to explore the seaside city – walking the shoreline, sipping wine in local cafes, and maybe stepping into one of the casinos in nearby Monte Carlo. Two nights in the birthplace of artist Paul Cézanne, Aix-en-Provence, offers time to wander the public squares, take in the 17th- and 18th-cenury mansions and enter into the Musée Ganet.

As Emerald Cruises’ first Star Ship in France, Emerald Liberté was custom-built especially for the Rhône and Saône Rivers and has a capacity of 138 guests with a crew-to-guest ratio of 1:3.
