G Adventures has announced its departures list for JUN 2022 and - for the first time since the pandemic - more than 1,000 departures are on the list, representing a return to 50 per cent capacity when compared to 2019, and the highest number of trips operating since the pandemic was declared.

The adventure operator is also encouraging agents and industry members to take advantage of its agent and industry discount policy to receive up to 50 per cent off one of these trips.

The JUN departures list sees the return of Borneo, Cuba and Madagascar for the first time in two years, as well as the reopening of the Thailand Hilltribes trekking route, and restart of the Mont Blanc hiking season.

These destinations join new arrivals for the month of MAY, which feature more than 800 departures and sees more trips return in Asia. Trips start up again in Vietnam, Indonesia and South Korea, and Eastern Europe and the company says the "‘Stans" are also back.

“As the travel industry recovers it’s up to us to be the shining light and to lead by example. We’ve all missed travelling, and we’ve all earned ourselves a holiday having helped so many customers rebook their adventures over the past two years,” said David Green, managing director for G Adventures Canada, encouraging agents to get back out in the world this summer.

Preferred partner travel agents with G Adventures receive up to 50 per cent discount for themselves, and a 25 per cent discount for up to three travelling companions. All other agency partners receive up to 30 per cent off, with up to 15 per cent off for their fellow adventurers.

Members of the wider travel industry community are also eligible for up to 15 per cent off G Adventures’ portfolio of tours upon presentation of an IATA or other travel industry ID card.

Example trips available to travel this summer include:

  • A five-day Northern Hilltribes Trek travelling from Chiang Mai return is priced from CAD $549pp per person, departing on 23JUN 2022. Guests can head out from Chiang Mai and through a national park to Lahu and Karen villages, spend time with a shaman, explore deep caves by bamboo raft, and marvel at the jungle scenery before arriving at the hilltop village of Ban Jabo.
  • A 15-day Cuba Colonial tour travelling from Havana return is priced from CAD $2,549 per person, departing on 11JUN 2022. Travellers can head east to Santiago de Cuba and Baracoa and encounter the birthplace of Cuban rhythms, and soak in Spanish heritage while exploring churches, forts, and cobblestoned streets. Guests can stay overnight in homestays for an immersive Cuban experience.
  • A 14-day Highlights of Madagascar trip travelling from Antananarivo return is priced from CAD $3,799 per person, departing on 02JUN 2022.
