AmaWaterways Celebrates Travel Advisors with Special Offers in MAY

AmaWaterways Crew WavingAmaWaterways kicked off Travel Advisor Appreciation Month on 04MAY with a dedicated Webinar Wednesday announcing exclusive perks – including free sailings, "Sell 3, Sail Free" reward cruises, new Seminar on the River dates and gift cards – to thank travel advisors for their unwavering dedication and support over the river cruise line’s 20 year history.

Continuing throughout the month of MAY travel advisors can earn a CAD $20 gift card for each new 2022 FIT booking and earn a reward cruise when they confirm three FIT bookings made between 01OCT 2021 and 31DEC 2022 for 2022 sailings. AmaWaterways will also give away complimentary river cruises with round-trip business class airfare to two  travel advisors who attend its Webinar Wednesday series during the month of MAY.

“AmaWaterways expresses appreciation to our travel advisor partners all year long, but the month of May is a special time for our teams to share even more love by offering these additional rewards and incentives,” said Kristin Karst, co-founder and executive vice president of AmaWaterways.

“As 97% of our sales come from our travel advisors, we also like to use this opportunity to encourage even more travelers to utilize travel advisors by sharing on our social media channels the incredible value they bring to their clients.”

The 04MAY Webinar Wednesday was hosted by Kristin Karst and Alex Pinelo, senior vice president of sales at AmaWaterways, who were joined by special guests Zane Kerby, president and chief executive officer, ASTA and Sarah Little, vice president of business development, ASTA.

With all 20 ships in its European fleet back on the rivers this spring welcoming guests, the river cruise line took the opportunity to show its support for the work done by ASTA on behalf of the travel industry. This includes lobbying the U.S. government to remove return home COVID-19 testing for international travelers and providing educational opportunities such as the 2022 Global River Cruise Expo held in Budapest in MAR followed by the President’s Cruise on board AmaMagna. Details on the 2023 river cruise event are soon to be released, according to AmaWaterways.

In an effort to provide the brand’s valued travel advisor partners with the opportunity to enjoy a getaway, AmaWaterways unveiled a new "Sell 3, Sail Free" incentive, giving travel advisors who book three eligible sailings the opportunity to choose a complimentary 7-night river cruise for two from 20 AmaWaterways departures in 2022. Also announced were five new Seminar on the River dates including a 31JUL 2022 Danube cruise on board the new AmaMagna. These special cruises will be hosted by AmaWaterways’ dedicated sales team with onboard sessions providing in-depth product knowledge and key sales tips intended to help travel advisors boost their business.

“Throughout the past two years, especially, travel advisors have demonstrated an incredible resiliency, professionalism and deep passion for their profession, along with their commitment to their clients’ wellbeing,” said Pinelo. “We are deeply honored to recognize their hard work and celebrate their loyalty to AmaWaterways with these special offers and rewards.”

The company has recently implemented new time-saving tools for advisors including enhancements to its online booking engine and a callback feature on its reservation lines. Additional reservations and air department agents have also been added to handle the increase in business as international travel continues to rebound.

To apply for gift cards, a free cruise with the "Sell 3, Sail Free" incentive or a Seminar on the River cruise, travel advisors must submit the forms found on AmaWaterways’ Travel Advisor Portal.
