Virgin Voyages Partners With Sustainable Fuels Providers, Hopes to Foster Scale

Virgin Voyages is partnering with the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) and three waste-based, sustainable fuel providers, Argent Energy, GoodFuels and Twelve, to advance the cruise line’s commitment of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050. As reported by Seatrade Cruise News, Virgin Voyages will enter into long-term agreements for sustainable marine fuels with the providers and plans to add others over time. The cruise line estimates that switching to sustainable marine fuels will reduce its life-cycle carbon emissions from fuel by 75 per cent or more.
