U.S. airlines are sticking with their COVID-19 vaccination mandates for employees following an executive order by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott barring businesses in the state from enacting them. Issued on 11OCT, the order says no business in the state can "compel receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine" to any employee or customer who objected to it for reasons of personal conscience, religious objection or medical reasons. Despite this, Dallas-based Southwest Airlines and American Airlines have both affirmed they will continue their mandates as the federal requirement to do so supersedes conflicting state laws.
