Thailand Reopening Bangkok and Other Popular Areas for Vaccinated Tourists

Bangkok, Thailand, one of the most visited cities in the world pre-pandemic, is now reopening to fully vaccinated foreign tourists as of 01OCT. The Tourism Authority of Thailand announced that international visitors to the capital and four other popular tourist destinations in the country; Chiang Mai, Chon Buri, Phetchaburi, and Prachuap Khiri Khan, will no longer have to undergo two weeks of quarantine on arrival as long as travellers are fully vaccinated and present negative COVID-19 test results. Agence France-Presse reports that the destinations listed will likely follow the country’s “Sandbox” program first introduced in Phuket upon its reopening, meaning that tourists must remain in their chosen location for the first seven days after arrival, but not confined to the grounds of their hotel.
