Seatrade: Uniform Protocols Needed to Further Kickstart Cruising

According to Manolis Alevropoulos, VP marine operations, Celebrity Cruises, uniform protocols are needed by cruise lines to further kickstart the return of the cruise industry, and this sentiment was echoed by other panelists at Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami. Alevropoulos said the most important things for the industry’s continued resumption are: “collaboration, protocols being aligned, the industry coming back safely,” also adding that every region needs similar protocols. Fellow panelists such as Emre Sayin, CEO, Global Ports Holding, and Tim Littley, senior director deployment and itinerary planning, Seabourn, agreed that consistency is important, and “minor differences cause problems.”
