Phone Calls on Planes Coming to Europe

The policy would also allow passengers to access their apps and stream video and music on planes equipped with 5G service, said Thierry Breton, EU Commissioner for the Internal Market. “The sky is no longer a limit when it comes to possibilities offered by super-fast, high-capacity connectivity,” he said. EU member states will have to make 5G technology available on airlines by June 30, 2023.
