Marco Mendicino, Minister of Public Safety, is calling for better practices in Canada’s travel industry as a whole. Mendicino says the “entire ecosystem” needs “a full court press” to address a surge in demand for post-pandemic travel. However, the Minister did not say exactly what better practices the industry itself needs to undertake. He simply referred to what Ottawa is doing to address the bottlenecks in the recent announcement which includes the hiring of additional staff and the creation of a task force designed to find solutions to the delays.
