London Hotel Prices Spike Ahead of Queen’s Funeral as London Could be “Full”

Travellers looking to book a hotel room in London ahead of the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II need to be ready to pay up as rates surge.

The average price for a London hotel room this weekend (17-18SEP) is 30 per cent higher than it was for the same weekend in 2019, and 39.5 per cent higher than it was in 2021, according to data Trivago shared with Bloomberg. London hotels have seen a spike in bookings ahead of 19SEP’s funeral at Westminster Abbey, with the British Royal Family, political leaders, and thousands of members of the public expected to come to London to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II.
