LHR Ordered to Cut COVID-era Pax Fees

The U.K.’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has ordered LHR to reduce pax fees, which were raised at the end of 2021 to offset operating losses due to the pandemic. The airport was previously permitted to raise pax fees from CAD $30.63 to CAD $47.18, and now the regulator proposed that those fees be reduced by 6 per cent until 2026, reports Simple Flying.

According to the CAA, the fees will remain at CAD $47.18 until the end of 2022, and afterwards, will be reduced annually based on the Consumer Prices Index minus 5.74 per cent until DEC 2024.
