LHR Asks Airlines to Cancel 10% of Flights as Airport Faces Baggage Backlog

LHR asked airlines, including Air Canada, to cancel 10 per cent of their flights on 20JUN as the airport faces a backlog in baggage, which saw travellers wait around 3 hours over the weekend to receive their luggage. Other airlines that cancelled flights include Air France, Delta Air Lines, Lufthansa, KLM, and more. According to a spokesperson from LHR, technical issues with the airport’s baggage systems prompted the request for cancellations, intended to help LHR deal with the backlog.
