Indian Operator Unveils New, “World’s Longest River Cruise Journey”

Antara Luxury River Cruises’ Ganga Vilas sets sail on what it claims is the world’s longest river cruise journey on 13JAN, according to TTG Asia. The 51-day cruise includes the Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers in both India and Bangladesh and according to the operator, allows guests - all Swiss on the inaugural run - to explore ancient regions and less-accessible ‘hinterlands’ of the countries.

It says the journey will have regular departures beginning in SEP and will be marketed to more international markets.

It’s not clear if all 51 days of the Antara journey are on the water. AmaWaterways’ 2024 “Seven River Journeys” are 49 nights, and Uniworld’s 2024 3-continent, “Rivers of the World” journey is 55 nights.
