Fifteen people were reported missing, and one was confirmed dead by Monday morning after flash flooding occurred at the Grand Canyon 30AUG, leading to 60 people being airlifted out of the area. The flood damaged the only water pipeline used by tourists and residents, according to the National Park Service, leaving tourists unable to stay overnight at lodges and hotels within the park.
