February Global Air Travel Demand Falls Further: IATA

Global air demand in FEB 2021 fell 74.7 per cent compared with its pre-pandemic level in FEB 2019, a deeper drop than the 72.2 per cent decline in JAN 2021, says IATA. The association says the decline was due to still-miniscule demand for international air travel. Compared with FEB 2019, international air demand in FEB this year fell by 88.7 per cent, the worst growth outcome since JUL 2020. Most travel indicators |went in the wrong direction as travel restrictions tightened in the face of continuing concerns over new coronavirus variants," said IATA director general Willie Walsh.
