Despite COVID Travel Restrictions, Canada Still Makes 2022 List of World’s Most Powerful Passports

Despite the country’s COVID-19 travel restrictions, Canada has still made the top 10 in the 2022 list of the world’s most powerful passports. The list was determined by global citizenship and residence advisory firm Henley & Partners. The Henley Passport Index uses data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Canada sits at number 7, tied with Australia, the Czech Republic, Greece and Malta. Japan and Singapore sit together at the top spot, while South Korea and Germany tie for second, and Finland, Italy, Luxembourg and Spain place third together. Meanwhile, the U.S. and the U.K. sit just ahead at number 6, alongside Switzerland, Norway, Belgium and New Zealand.
