The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) plans to launch a “Certified Caribbean Travel Advisor Expert” program in 2023, it was announced during a press conference on 04OCT at the 40th Caribbean Travel Marketplace in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Reportedly, the program aims to unify various regional destination and brand specialist programs so advisors can “better know (and sell) the region as a whole.” Calls are growing to treat the entire region as one travel destination to benefit all countries in the region.
The program is designed to address “a knowledge gap” as a result of many current individual country programs. It will reportedly be an online course, with the CHTA partnering with destinations and hotel associations and incorporating their programs in the new, holistic one.
