BET YOU’VE GOT AN OPINION: U.S. FAA Seeking Feedback About Airplane Seat Size

If you’ve been noticing that seats on aircraft are getting smaller all the time, you’re not alone. According to CNN, the FAA is now getting involved in one of the biggest points of contention for air pax.

It’s inviting travellers to provide their two cents to help determine what “minimum dimensions (including pitch, width, and length) of passenger seats may be necessary for safety, including in particular airplane evacuation,” the request for public comments states.

Don’t bother to talk about comfort. “Passenger comfort or convenience” are specifically excluded from the FAA’s consideration. Comments are open to the public until November 1.
