American Asking Employees to Volunteer at the Airport

In a memo to employees, American is asking its corporate employees to volunteer at DFW from JUN to mid-AUG in preparation for a busy summer for travel. Though the volunteer program is launching this summer, the airline plans to keep it up during busy periods in the future. A spokesman from American Airlines explained: “As we look forward to welcoming back more of our customers this summer, we know they’re counting on us to deliver a reliable operation and help them feel comfortable as they return after many months away from traveling…To ensure they have the support they need this summer and beyond, our corporate support teams will provide additional support at DFW.” Volunteers will help at airport entrances, TSA checkpoints, international baggage claim areas, and more in an effort to streamline the airport process for returning travellers and to provide extra support for frontline teams. Volunteers are expected to work three six-hour shifts at the minimum, but this extra time will come without pay.
