Air Canada to Stop Service from Yellowknife to Edmonton and Calgary

YahooNews reports that Air Canada revealed in an email Wednesday that it will no longer fly direct from Yellowknife to Edmonton as of 01OCT. Starting 01NOV, it says the airline will no longer fly direct from Yellowknife to Calgary.

The airline characterized the changes as "seasonal" and "temporary" changes to its fall/winter schedule to "build resiliency into the overall schedule," but did not say when the direct flights would return.

Meanwhile, Canadian North continues to offer daily flights between Yellowknife and Edmonton. WestJet will increase its flights between Yellowknife and Calgary from six days a week to daily starting 31OCT.
