Air Canada Agrees To Compensate Pax After Thousands Delayed Due to Recent Tech Issues

Air Canada has admitted it made a mistake in rejecting some compensation claims from the thousands of travellers affected by delayed flights due to computer malfunctions, reports the Toronto Sun.

The carrier has struggled with intermittent computer problems since 25MAY.

Initially in some cases, the airline reportedly claimed the IT issues were beyond their control, freeing them from compensation obligations. However, Air Canada later acknowledged the error in rejecting the claims and stated they would provide compensation in accordance with new Air Passenger Protection Regulations.
