In honour of Travel Advisor Day this month, the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has partnered with the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) to offer a free Business Building Workshop series for travel agents from 09 to 11MAY, with special daily prize giveaways from Royalton Negril Resort, DeCameron Club Caribbean and Secrets St. James Resort.

The Business Building Workshop series comprises three, hour-long virtual professional development sessions hosted by Sandra McLemore. The founder and CEO of Travel Marketing Media Inc., McLemore is an experienced business coach who says she has helped more than 42,000 travel industry professionals.

Hosted on 09, 10 and 11MAY from 2 to 3 p.m. EDT, each unique workshop session is designed to provide advisors with actionable tactics to implement in their business right away. Advisors will gain knowledge on how to streamline their business operations, attract new clients and increase revenue.

Agents participating in the workshops will also be invited to enter a special daily prize giveaway. Following each educational seminar, one winning attendee will receive an all-inclusive, three-night stay for two from one of three prize partners: Royalton Negril Resort, DeCameron Club Caribbean and Secrets St. James Resort.

“At the Jamaica Tourist Board, we strongly believe in supporting our Canadian travel partners by investing directly in their business,” says Angella Bennett, JTB Regional Director, Canada.

“While we celebrate agents year-round, we are proud to host this expert-led workshop series and prize giveaway in honour of Travel Advisor Day this month. We hope the seminars provide agents with the practical strategies and take-home tools they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive market.”

Workshop Details:

Day One: Planning Fees for Travel Advisors: Everything you need to know - 09MAY from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. EDT

Given the disruptions in the travel industry over the last three years, many individual agents and larger agencies have implemented fees as part of their business. This session will include information on how agents can start implementing fees, how to communicate these fees to new and existing clients and strategies to help navigate this delicate issue.

Prize: Three-night all-inclusive stay for two at Royalton Negril Resort.

Day Two: Removing the noise to make space for new leads - 10MAY from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. EDT

For agents struggling with disorganization and poor time management, this session will cover five tactics to remove the noise and make space for new leads. Agents will leave the workshop with strategies to get focused, reduce stress and be more intentional in their travel business.

Prize: Three-night all-inclusive stay for two at DeCameron Club Caribbean.

Day Three: Generating new leads for your business - 11MAY from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. EDT

In this session, McLemore will talk about the most common ways that profitable travel advisors find leads and what steps to take to attract a consistent stream of new clients. This workshop will help participants identify effective lead-generating tactics for their business and provide guidance on how to implement these strategies that same day.

Prize: Three-night all-inclusive stay for two at Secrets St. James Resort.

According to the JTB, the Business Building Workshop series caters to travel advisors of all experience levels, with coaching advice applicable to both independent entrepreneurs and individuals working as part of a larger agency.

Workshops will be administered in English and are free to attend. Each session will conclude with a question-and-answer period, and presentation slides will be available for registrants to view and download for a limited period following each live virtual event.
