The top producing agents were recognized and celebrated at AMR Collections Amazing Agent event at Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort last week. In the event's second year, 20 Canadian and 65 US agents were represented to take part in programming, activities, cocktail parties and the first ever Amazing Agent Award gala night. The agents were also treated to the opening party at Breathless Cancun Soul, last Thursday.

According to Carlo Trinidad, AMR Collection BDM- Western Canada, 100 agents from across North America were selected as top producing agents. Due to the challenges in 2020, AMR based their numbers on sales from 2019-2021 to be fair to all agents. Trinidad hopes to double the number of attendees next year, because it’s a “great way to honour all the hard working agents across North America who love and support our brand.”

“It’s an easy sell, because it’s an amazing company, “ said Marjorie Dejong, senior agent at Transat Travel in Peterborough. “They put agents first.”

On the first day, all agents won a 3-night stay at the all-new Secrets® Moxché Playa Del Carmen, opening in February. In addition, five winners were drawn at random to receive air and ground transportation for their stay in 2022.

“I’m here to represent my agents, because they’re the ones who are doing the selling of this amazing product,” Al Valente, owner of Valente Travel in Windsor. He went on to say, “the last 19 months have been challenging to say the least, and I felt at some points that I was the cheerleader for the group, reminding them how resilient and lucky we are to be in this industry.”

Agents and their guests experienced the amenities at Dreams Vista Cancun, as part of their recognition, from spa treatments to tequila tastings and grand beach party and BBQ. On the final night, the first ever Be Amazing Awards took place at the gala dinner. A total of six agents were awarded for going above and beyond, in charitable giving, mentorship and women’s empowerment and outreach to environmental and community efforts in their respective regions. Two Canadian agents were among the winners; Tannis Dyrland Owner of Travel with Tannis, for exceptional achievement in creative and innovation in travel for her Fu*k-it List and Mile High Cocktails podcast series. And Chris Rollinson, Co-President & General Manager escapes.ca for exceptional achievement in sustainability and environmental initiatives. His efforts help to preserve and protect the environment, so for every online package booked a tree is planted with Edenprojects.org.

When asked what takeaways he had from the conference, Valente said, “I certainly chose the right profession to be in. The product that AMR is putting out is just incredible and I’m excited to be part of an amazing group of people and to be recognized for what we’ve done over the last year.”
