Tim Paul has joined Discover the World Canada as a Senior Manager to focus on Expedia’s Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP).

In the new position, Paul will be responsible for customer service, B2B marketing, inside sales, and digital travel agent platforms for the travel trade, using his experience with distribution platforms, supplier relationships, marketing strategies and business development.

Paul has 20 years of Canadian aviation and travel industry experience working at WestJet, and previously was a member of the airline’s travel agent advisory board.

“I am excited to join the team responsible for promoting Expedia TAAP in Canada. Expedia is a great brand, and its TAAP platform is a perfect tool for travel agents to access the depth of product and leading rates, all while earning competitive commissions. This is a terrific opportunity for me to combine my love of travel with my technical talents while also advocating for the Canadian travel agency industry,” said Paul.

He also took to LinkedIn to announce the appointment, saying: “The travel industry called me back, and I was warned of that 20 years ago when I joined WestJet. I am excited to sell the Expedia brand in Canada to the travel agency trade with Expedia TAAP through Discover the World. I can not wait to see familiar faces again.”

Jane Clementino, Director of Discover the World Canada, said that: “Tim’s leadership, innovation, and vast capabilities will accelerate the growth we are targeting for the TAAP program, and he adds additional bench strength in western Canada as DTW expands its client list and enhances the range of B2B services. I am thrilled to be working with Tim again, he is a terrific addition to the Canadian Discover the World team.”
