Belair Travel co-founder and former CEO of TravelBrands, Frank DeMarinis has reinvented himself once again with the official launch of booking platform Shoptravel.
The platform bills itself as a “travel co-pilot” rather than a conventional booking engine. In this first phase, Canadians can book packaged vacations and hotels with additional products such as AI-powered travel tools and customer experiences slated to roll out in the coming weeks and months.
“Canadians deserve a travel platform built for them,” said DeMarinis, president and CEO of Shoptravel.
“I’ve spent my career in this industry, and what I keep coming back to is this: our job isn’t just to help Canadians book travel; it’s to inspire them to take it. shoptravel is your travel co-pilot — real expertise, real people, and a genuine love of travel guiding you the whole way”.
Behind the scenes, Shoptravel Group Inc. was incorporated in August 2025 under the Canada Business Corporations Act and is headquartered in Vaughan, Ontario. DeMarinis brought on Kiru Thirukailayanathan, formerly director of engineering at TravelBrands, as chief technology officer in July to lead the platform’s next-generation technology strategy.
A separate advisor-facing platform, shoptravelpro.com, is currently in development for the trade channel.
