It was an evening of celebration as Direct Travel won every Top Production Category at the Virtuoso regional awards gala evening, held 5 March. The gala event, the second annual regional award celebration, was held at Quebec City’s Fairmont Chateau Frontenac as part of the luxury travel group’s Forum Canada.
Direct Travel won Top Annual Production in all five categories: Cruise, Hotels & Resorts, Tour, On-Site and Specialty. The Top Annual Production category recognizes the highest sales in each category, a remarkable achievement for a single agency group.
“To be recognized in each of these key categories is truly an honour, and is a testament to our incredible travel advisors who collaborate with their clients to create personalized travel experiences,” Stephen Smith, Direct Travel’s SVP Leisure Strategy and Marketing. “We did well last year with wins in three of the five, but this year are delighted to add Hotels & Resorts and Specialty.”
Virtuoso is the leading global network specializing in luxury and experiential travel. The by-invitation-only organization connects travel advisors, such as the over 450 Direct Travel luxury leisure advisors in Canada, with over two thousand of the world’s best hotels, cruise lines, tour operators and more.
“Working with Virtuoso is a true collaboration, and Virtuoso Forum is a reminder of the value of human connection not only with our partners but our peers which is invaluable to Direct Travel as an agency and to our clients,” added Julie Skinner, SVP Leisure Sales & Operations Canada for Direct Travel.
Direct Travel management and advisors look forward to connecting again with suppliers at the various Virtuoso On Tour events across the country and the annual Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas, taking place this year August 9 to 15.
