On 24AUG, Lynx Air launched its first flight from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), marking the start of the Ultra-Low-Cost carrier's U.S. expansion.
As OpenJaw previously reported, the airline also launches service from YYZ to Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX) 12OCT.
Starting 31AUG, Lynx will also add service from Montréal Pierre Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).
The fares for these routes start from CAD $129 one way, inclusive of taxes.
Lynx Air CEO Merren McArthur said, "Toronto is our fastest growing hub because it has historically been underserved by low-cost carriers and that means airfares have been too high for too long."
By DEC 2023, Lynx plans to fly more than 22,000 seats per week across its North American network to and from Toronto, representing a 260% growth over the previous year. The ULCC has recently established a pilot and cabin crew base in Toronto to support this growth.
