At Hotel X, Arajet executives, along with members of the travel industry and friends, came together to celebrate the introduction of Arajet's direct flights (Oct. 24) to Toronto. The atmosphere was jubilant as more than 100 guests enjoyed wine, hors-d'œuvres and socialized. At the same time, the evening was skillfully MC’ed by Camila Gonzalez, a TV Host and Senior Producer at TLN Media Group.
"Today, Arajet makes history by being the first Dominican airline to fly to Canada, providing new opportunities to grow business and tourism between our two nations,” said Victor Pacheco, Founder and CEO of Arajet. “Arajet also establishes Santo Domingo as an exciting new Hub on the continent for Canadians, connecting them to more than ten countries in the Americas, such as Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Curacao, Aruba, and Colombia, with a low-fare airline that does not compromise on customer service and experience."

Arajet CEO on Making DR a Low-Cost Caribbean Hub for Canadians
Arajet plans to expand its flight schedule from Toronto to four days a week, offering departures on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
The airline's route network encompasses 22 destinations across 16 countries, offering over 150 connections throughout North, Central, and South America. Arajet expects to fly more than seven million passengers through its Santo Domingo hub in the next five years.
Travellers departing from Toronto with Arajet have the advantage of reaching DR beaches within a short distance from the airport. Locations like Boca Chica and Juan Dolio are a mere 20-minute journey, while Bayahibe is easily accessible in 45 minutes.
Additionally, Arajet extends its services from Santo Domingo to the resorts and beaches of Punta Cana, which can be reached in less than two hours with no additional fees.
“We are thrilled to be the first part of Arajet’s expansion into the Canadian market,” said Khalil Lamrabet, Chief Commercial Officer, Greater Toronto Airports Authority. “This new route will link Toronto Pearson to a new level of connectivity in Central and South America. It’s just another way we are working to increase travel options for the millions of passengers who pass through our airport every year.”
Khalil Lamrabet added, "In 2019, over 750,000 passengers travelled between Toronto and the Dominican Republic. This route further stimulates business and retail tourism between our countries.”
The Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Canada, Frank Hans Dannenberg, said “The inauguration of this new air route by Arajet, S.A. is not only a business achievement but also a significant step in the interconnection between Canada and the Latin American region, as it will strengthen the mobility between Canadians and Dominicans, at competitive prices”.
The event received support from The Boeing Company, a strategic partner of Arajet. The airline has a standing order for up to 45 737 Max 8 aircraft from the American manufacturer.
Following the presentations, attendees made their way outside to the Exhibition grounds to witness a stunning drone display created by Toronto's Illumin Drone Shows
