AMR Amazing Agents, their guests and a slew of Mexican socialites walked the red carpet and sipped champagne last Thursday evening at the gala opening of the Breathless Cancun Soul Resort & Spa.
An estimated 600 guests including a Mexican delegation of prominent political figures, hoteliers, international fashion designers, runway models, beauty queens, and musical performers were on hand to celebrate Cancun’s latest adult only Breathless resort.
The third Breathless to open in Mexico, after Breathless Cabo San Lucas and Breathless Riviera Cancun, Soul has been a labour of love for Javier Navarro, Director of Sales Breathless Cancun Soul, who conducted our media site inspection ahead of the official grand opening to the public on December 7th.
The lobby is set between two towers with a direct line of sight to the sea and distant views of Isla Mujeres. The resort features 429 rooms, 42% of which are oceanfront, and exclusive Xhale club rooftop infinity pool connecting the two buildings. There are 10 restaurants onsite each with guaranteed ocean views, and 11 bars.
Navarro explained what differentiates them from the other brands. “We have seven brand pillars that make up our DNA. Entertainment, Music, Pool and Beach, Spa, Dining, Fashion, and Art and Culture.”
Quintana Roo Governor Carlos Joaquin, Alejandro Zozaya, founder of AMResort joined the AMR, ALG and Hyatt executives on stage for speeches and the official ribbon cutting to kick off the celebration.
Some of the pillars showcased at the main event were food stations serving tapas style elevated Mexican cuisine and artisanal crafts for purchase. The main event, however, was a combination of Entertainment, Music and Fashion pillars. Organizers converted the central pool into a fashion runway celebrating three internationally renowned fashion designers Victor & Jesse, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada and Gustavo Pucheta, plus special guest, former Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio. The finale would not be complete without a massive fireworks display and DJ dance party into the early morning hours.
