Representatives from the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Association and VoX International thanked Canada for its support at a VIP luncheon at the Westin Harbour Castle hotel as they prepared to hit the road for a series of Canada shows. Even when times are hard, the hope of early retirement from a run of luck at the casinos followed by commiseration over gourmet food and wine and over-indulgent shopping sprees entices plenty of Canadians. We just cannot get enough of this glittering oasis in the Mojave desert.
The pull of Vegas was evident at the VIP event as heavy weights from the Las Vegas wholesalers and travel agent community came together and listened to Rafael Villaneuva, Director of International Sales for the LVCVA enthusiastically explain that there is more to Las Vegas than a hotel room. As the #1 outdoor destination in North America, nowhere else can offer you as much to do outside as it can in. You can spend the morning playing some of the best golf courses in the world or taking a sightseeing flight over the Grand Canyon. Then, enjoy a leisurely lunch and walk it off looking for that Prada bag you always wanted. Show off that new designer bag as you finish the day with dinner in a fine restaurant and take in a show by one of the biggest entertainers in the world.
After giving up trying to attract any one specific market, Las Vegas is going after everyone who appreciates the diversity of what it has to offer. As it constantly updates and evolves, you could visit every year and find something different, as hundreds of thousands of Canadians always do.
