Explora Journeys’ Very First Ship, EXPLORA I, Sets Sail

Explora I

The very first ship in the Explora Journeys fleet set sail on her maiden voyage from Copenhagen on 01AUG.

The sailing is a seven night itinerary taking guests through Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Kirkwall, Orkney, and Reykjavik, Iceland.

Michael Ungerer, CEO Explora Journeys said "It is our absolute honour to welcome the very first guests onboard our extraordinary ship and share this special moment with them as we embark on the maiden journey of EXPLORA I from Copenhagen. Our guests will be able to experience the very best European hospitality at sea and our vibrant, cosmopolitan sense of luxury, while discovering some of the world’s most remarkable destinations. A new era of transformative luxury ocean travel begins now with the first sailing of EXPLORA I.”

After this voyage, EXPLORA I will return to Copenhagen for a sailing to Hamburg in August.

Following its Northern European itineraries, the ship will cross the Atlantic and spend the winter in North America and the Caribbean before returning to Europe for voyages in the Mediterranean for summer 2024.

Looking ahead, Explora Journeys plans to launch EXPLORA II in 2024, with EXPLORA III and EXPLORA IV, both LNG-powered vessels, joining the fleet in 2026 and 2027.
