NCL Now Paying Commissions Up Front

Norwegian Cruise Line has adjusted its commission structure, now paying advisors the moment a booking is paid in full, NCL Chief Sales Officer Katina Athanasiou told Cruise Week.

“What's equally important is that this new policy applies to any form of payment. So if a booking is paid in full with a 100% future cruise credit, no longer do travel partners have to wait until sailing in order to get paid. They get to get paid now,” Athanasiou said.

The policy change applies to bookings in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

“We have a lot of future cruise credit bookings to travel partners that are for 2022, because our FCCs from the get-go allowed guests the opportunity to sail through December 31, 2022,” Athanasiou said.

“We want to be able to reward that travel partner today and provide that commission.”

The policy is effective retroactively from 06APR.

“We announced that it will be effective May 1, but retro from today (06APR) because we just need time to make sure that we get it into the system. So not to worry -- it says effective May 1, but it will be retro back from today,” she said.
