How long have you been in the business? Almost 12 years.
What do you like about your job? Helping people realize what they want and making that dream come true.
Do you have a specialty? I do a bit of everything because I’ve travelled so much – the Caribbean, Mexico, Asia, Africa. I like small group adventures too.
How do you keep up on product knowledge? When I go on a holiday I do a lot of hotel inspections. I’ve been to over 300 hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean – it really helps my business.
What drives you crazy? Investing time with people who book on line because it’s $30 less.
What was your biggest individual sale? $30,000 – a really nice couple travelling to Australia.
Do you have a magic sentence to close the sale? I have a lot! There’s the scarcity close…the price fluctuation close…I usually use a close 3 or 4 times.
Any time management strategies? Our system here logs every call I’ve made and it tells me who I need to follow up with – and it also tells me when prices have gone down or up so I can alert clients.
How would your clients describe you? Assertive, outgoing and knowledgeable.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received? You can’t win them all. You can’t close every sale.
If you had to spend six months in a destination, which one would you pick?
Asia somewhere – I have this love affair with Asia. Maybe India – but I might get tired of curry!
