How long have you been with Emirates? Three years today!
What did you want to be when you were a small child back in Scotland? (Laughs) A bus conductress!
What, apart from this job, was your favourite one? Probably Director of National Sales at BA. Great training.
Ever had a brush with fame? All the time! I’ve been in the industry a long time so have come across many famous people – including Princess Diana, who was very nice and kind of shy.
Describe your dream vacation. In India, enjoying spiritually-uplifting things.
Do you have any hobbies or interests? I love to cook and I’ve been dabbling in Middle Eastern cooking since I’ve been with Emirates.
We have to ask this: How many pairs of shoes do you own? (Laughs again.) Probably 60 upwards.
Whom do you most respect in the industry? I respect what Jonathan Carroll (itravel2000) and Colin Hunter (Sunwing Travel Group) have achieved during these difficult times.
If you could sit next to anyone on a long haul flight, who would it be? Indira Gandhi.
What drives you crazy? When people say they will do something and they don’t meet their deadlines it drives me up the wall.
What is going to be the industry’s biggest challenge this coming year? From the airline point of view, fuel - and we’ll see a lot of fallout from it.
What do you hope to be doing in 10 years? Travelling around the world and enjoying life and doing all the things I’ve put on hold because I’ve been too busy.
What was the best piece of advice you ever received? Stay true to yourself and you can do anything you want to.
