Zipair Launching Direct Toronto-Tokyo Narita Service

Getting to Japan just got easier.

Zipair is coming to Toronto Pearson International Airport next year, according to posts made on the airport's official social media accounts on Tuesday afternoon.

"ZIPAIR is coming to Pearson in 2027, with year-round nonstop service to Tokyo Narita three times a week," the posts read.

"Toronto will be ZIPAIR's second Canadian destination after Vancouver.

"Cherry blossom season, late nights in Shinjuku, the perfect bowl of ramen: whatever's on your list, it's about to get a little easier to reach."

There was no other information, only a "stay tuned" to find out more.

Open Jaw has reached out to Pearson and to Zipair for comment.

Travel to Japan by Canadians has jumped sharply in the past two years, thanks in part to a cheaper yen and a push by the country's tourism board to go beyond Tokyo and Kyoto. More than 688,000 Canadians visited Japan in 2025, up 18% from 2024’s 580,000, according to the Japan National Tourism Organization.

Currently, Zipair operates a Vancouver-Tokyo route five times a week.
