Flair could be heading to Europe after receiving Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) approval to operate services to the UK and European Community and its Member States.
The airline was granted two CTA licences on 21SEP covering scheduled international services onboard a large aircraft.
The first licence authorizes services on routes permitted under the Canada-UK Air Transport Agreement, signed 20FEB, 2024.
The second covers routes permitted under the Canada-European Community agreement, dating back to 2009.
The CTA said Flair had met all the requirements and conditions.
The airline has not announced a launch date or schedule for UK or European services yet.
The approvals come as Flair faces higher fuel costs and is reshaping its network. CEO Len Corrado said this week that fuel typically accounts for nearly a third of the airline’s costs, dampening the carrier’s ability to offer low fares and steering it away from US routes.
